A little store in Sellwood has opened, run by volunteers selling donated items. Sam’s Attic uses its profits to help teachers in Masaka and Nambirizi, Uganda, who run schools for orphans.

In 1980, Elsa Jane Weislogel was sending financial support to Flora Mutaka, the widow of a pastor with four children in Woblenzi, Uganda. That was the seed that led to Good Samaritan Ministries (GSM) adding Uganda to the list of places they support. GSM was started in 1976 in Beaverton by Bettie P. Mitchell. Sam’s (short for Samaritan) Attic is on SE 17th in Sellwood.

Open Thurs-Sat.

One Review of “Sam’s Attic”

  1. Andrea says:

This place is amazing. You never know what you are going to need or want until you get there. They have everything and more. I love the prices which beat out Goodwill and even garage sales. They have great items in great shape and all the proceeds go to a great cause. I have found adorable baby stuff there for super cheap. Love it!
